Gemma said prior to the event last Saturday - I run for the Macclesfield Harriers A.C. along side Phil Gaskel who is the Rossendale event organiser for the London Marathon and part of the reason I am so lucky to be participating and raising money at the same time. I have run several half marathons and 10 mile road races and I feel I’m ready to take the next step. I feel it is important that people should help raise money for local charities and am very grateful to those who are sponsoring me. I am helping to raise money in hope that a new Day Care Centre can be built for The Rossendale Trust. Last year runners from the marathon raised an outstanding £5000. Day Care helps people take part in activities and meet new people which is great to see and hear about. Carers provide 24hour, year round support and response to the demands of the trust which I think is amazing from these people and volunteers.
